P4K’s Summer Festival Returns
Into the dust bowl known as Chicago’s Union Park for the last day of the second-ever, three day Pitchfork Music Festival (née Intonation Music Festival), did we go this past Sunday, July 15. (Why did I not take The M.O. up on those backstage passes for Friday, too?! Stupid.)
Our personalized, super-fun, 2007 lineup: Nomo, Jamie Lidell, Of Montreal and De La Soul (with surprise guest Prince Paul, fresh off his “The (white) Rapper Show” duties, no doubt). And “damn, Gina!” For being Sunday, we sure downed the 312 like nobody had to simply show up for work Monday.
I can’t say that heading to, and closing out, Innjoy was the smartest of moves afterwards. But, how could one pass up a chance to enjoy my Bar of the Year, 2007, with so many FOBs? Let me hear you say “De La…”
