Tegan And Sara Con Chicago
This first week of August has felt like being the subject of the Beastie Boys’ No Sleep Till Brooklyn. But even with non-REM for six straight nights, Tegan and Sara at Lakeshore Theater weren’t going to be passed up. Supporting their fifth full-length’s July release; they split the evening with a track-by-track first set of The Con, followed by a bringing-it-all-back second set of favorites and asides… upon asides.
Produced by Christopher Walla (of all-time Berklie fave Death Cab For Cutie), The Con is definitely the Quin twins’ most stylistic and polished effort; and is also the frontrunner for my “Album of the Year, 2007.” It’s too bad the same can’t be said about this post’s Berksclusive® videos. But, when you’re in a 250 seat venue, and the staff is on you every 5 minutes with “No filming, sweetheart” reminders… you take what you can sneakily get. Maybe we’ll have better luck when the girls are back in town on Nov. 29 at Portage Theater.

I Know I Know I Know at Lakeshore Theater on Tuesday, August 7, 2007.
Super-happy-fun-time extras ensue… one “best ever” old-schooler not played (what?!) and one new-schooler too good to stand there and capture.
