NN/g UW2007: Use It Or Lose It

NN/g Usability Week 2007Back from this year’s NN/g Usability Week 2007 conference in Washington, DC, and DC turned out to be about exactly what we thought it would be… like hanging out in the Loop after 5:00 PM. Yawn.

Granted; we may not have known fun times were possibly just 3 miles away in Virginia or Maryland, but DC’s nightlife warranted a D+/C- (and that’s only thanks to the “Young Madison Party” at The Third Edition bailing DC out).

However, in terms of its all-encompassing display of knowledge? That’s a completely different story… and DC rates a solid A+. Though that’s no thanks to NN/g UW2007. Seriously, update your presentations! Perhaps we had no business attending, yet again? (That was us too at the November 2000 Chicago kick-off of the NN/g User Experience World Tour and two others since.) Flat out: you’ve turned into a usability primer for the absolute masses. Pedestrian. Stale. Uninspired. NN/g, time to use it (your undeniable usability knowledge) or lose it (your conference mojo and attendance). How about focusing on some white papers and/or case studies written in, oh, the last 3 or 4 years?

We still <3 you and DC, though. You did give us a lot to see and do.
